Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This morning Tuesday, February 24, 2009 I had another conversation with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission regarding concessions.
The Commission has asked us to either take a wage freeze or give back five (5) holidays.
They stated these concessions are necessary due to the drop in revenue on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. However, they have failed to provide us with the information we requested to substantiate their claim.
The Commission also claims that if we concede on either of these issues there will be no layoffs. But again they are not willing to put that guarantee in writing.
In light of these facts we have made it clear that we are not willing to concede anything.
